Great Great Grandfather John Bell..

John Joseph Bell was born in Dublin Ireland on Dec 6th 1827. He emigrated to the US in 1843 at the age of 16. He died on Feb 9th 1909 in Berkeley County WV. He is buried in Morgan Chapel Graveyard in Bunker Hill. He married Mary E. Chrisman in 1853. He had 3 daughters that I know of, Mary Julia Virginia Bell Butler (my great Grandmother), Rachel Ann Bell, And Fannie E. Bell. Fannie Bell married George Mish on Oct. 20th 1886. The above photo is a census record from 1900 showing that he was living wish his daughter Fannie Bell Mish.

Elisha Phelps Butler's father was John Butler, he married Susan Elizabeth Hutzler on April 8th 1834 in Winchester VA. John Butler was born in 1803 in White Hall Virginia. John and Susan had 8 children.

Ebenezer Coe Butler married Elizabeth Shroades on Feb 9, 1898 in Martinsburg WV. I am not sure yet how many children they had, but they had a daughter named Hester that died in infancy in either 1902 or 1904 and a daughter named Edna. Ebenezer died of Chronic Interstitial Nephritis.

William Hamilton Butler married Caroline Mason on April 4, 1876. Again, I am not sure how many children they had, but they had a daughter named Lottie that died on March 8, 1894 of a lumbar abcess at the age of 14.

Cynthia Ann Butler married Robert H. Pine on April 18, 1878, I don't know yet whether thay had any children or not. She died of Pulmonary Congestion.

Charles Wesley Butler married Dora Ann McDonald on March 30, 1869, So far I only know of 2 children that they had, Madewell Stewart Butler (born Dec 1, 1877 -- died on Sept 23, 1964 of malnutrition and anemia), and Marion Coe Butler (born  Jan. 22, 1888 -- died  Nov. 1, 1967 in Monongalia County WV).

My Great-Grandfather Elisha Phelps Butler, was born in on  Sept 14th 1846 to John Butler and Susan Elizabeth Hutzler Butler. He was a Stone Mason. He married Mary Virginia Bell on Nov 8th 1877 in Berkeley Co WV, they had 8 children.  Alto Virginia Butler (Keyton) Aug. 12, 1878 -- Nov. 22, 1961 ,  Ernest B Butler Apr. 24, 1880 --Oct. 30, 1961,  Dunbar Butler Apr. 10, 1882 -- Apr. 1, 1954, Kirk Silver Butler  Oct. 15, 1884 -- Sep. 23, 1913, John Floyd Butler  Jan. 19, 1887-- Sep. 8, 1973, Blanche Edna Butler (Wright) May 5, 1890-- Feb. 7, 1935,  Elijah Irvin Butler (my grandfather)  Oct. 3, 1892 (The records have his birth listed for January instead of Oct)-- Apr. 25, 1973, Robert Mervil Butler  Apr. 14, 1897 -- Mar. 18, 1956. The group picture on the left is of everyone (except Kirk) in 1927 (from left to right Mervil, Elijah, Blanche, Floyd, Dunbar, Ernest, and Alto). The other pictures are of Kirk Butler and the only known photo of Mary Virginia Bell Butler.
